My name is Tamir, also known as tam1h. I've been pushing high mythic+ keys since Legion as a mage and raiding since Warlords of Draenor. I have been raiding in the top 30 scene throughout most of Shadowlands and Dragonflight.
What has changed
Season 4 Changes
With the release of Season 4, Awakened Raids and a different dungeon pool, we gain access to a lot of gearing combinations from across the entire expansion. With this, we get a new, but really an old, tier set that was voted for from the previous tier and fire is getting arguably the best tier set from Abberus (Season 2).
- (2) Set Bonus: Phoenix Flames applies Charring Embers to all enemies it damages, increasing their damage taken from you by 6% for 14 sec.
- (4) Set Bonus: When your direct damage spells hit an enemy affected by Charring Embers 20 times the damage of your next 2 Phoenix Flames is increased by 200% and they refund a charge on use.
Overall, I think this is a huge win for Fire, as the tier set is not only the most fun, it's actually a pretty big damage gain for us, and it also changes the gameplay; with phoenix flames used as an additional button in combination with all the phoenix flames talents that synergies with Firestarter and Sun King’s Blessing. Essentially, gaining more uptime on Sun King's Blessing, we can build SKB Stacks Faster with Phoenix Flames and it's an additional button to press outside of combustion that actually does good damage with the 4 set bonus.
