When it comes to Civilization games, future DLC plans are a key part of the game’s post-release strategy. Civilization 7 is no different, with a host of post-release DLC already confirmed to be coming in the near future.
Players who stuck around in Civilization 6 for a while will know the game had years of support, with a mix of traditional DLC packs and season pass leadership packs. Civilization 7 is slightly different from how DLC will work. So let’s have a look at what we know so far about how DLC in Civilization 7 will work.
Civilization 7 Current DLC Plans
While the Steam page for the game might suggest otherwise, we know the first DLC for Civilization 7 is right around the corner.
The first DLC will feature a new leader and two new Civilizations. Notably for some, this will be the DLC that adds Great Britain to the game, a notable absence from the base game. This first DLC will be available to purchase or as part of the Founders and Deluxe Editions of the game. The second DLC will come later, and feature 2 new leaders and four new Civilizations. This second DLC will be sold separate and be included in the Founders Edition.

FAQ
Will There be More DLC for Civilization 7?
Yes, while nothing is confirmed, we know the developers are going to cover the game in DLC and updates for many years to come. If we take any clues from Civilization 6, then we’ll get a mix of free updates and DLC over the next few years.
It is also highly likely we get one or two major expansion packs. For now, we have content until September, beyond that is purely speculation.
Who are the Civilization 7 DLC Leaders?
There are two confirmed leaders coming to Civilization 7:
Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician, often considered the first computer programmer. Ada Lovelace will unlock the Great Britain Civilization in the game and represent a new leader option for the series for Great Britain.
Simón Bolívar was a Venezuelan military leader who liberated Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia from Spanish rule. Known as "El Libertador," he envisioned a united Latin America and implemented progressive reforms. Simón Bolívar will likely be linked to a Venezuelan or South American Civilization added alongside his DLC.
Who are the Civilization 7 DLC Civilizations?
We are four confirmed Civilizations coming in the DLCs:
Carthage - Carthaginian or Carthage features in the majority of games, either as a playable Civilization or as a military City State. Hannibal is typically the leader when Carthage is playable.
Great Britain - Great Britain is a major Civilization in the series, often found in either the base game or as early DLC. Historically, Victoria or Elizabeth the 1st have been the faction's leaders of choice.
Bulgaria - Bulgaria, or Bulgar, has been in Civ games with Simeon of Bulgaria as the main ruler option.
Nepal - Joining as a late age Civilization, Nepal is not a common nation to see in Civilization games. Sometimes used as a City State, this is a big moment for fans of Nepal.
