For so long, the very embodiment of the clouds laid trapped atop a mountain of lightning. And at last, I can feel the wind at my back once again.
How to get the Alunira Mount
While exploring the Isle of Dorn you may have noticed an unattackable NPC stormrook, named Alunira, circling the tallest mountain on the southwestern side of the island.

Great news, Alunira can actually be defeated and will then drop a mount with the same appearance.
The way you obtain this mount is very reminiscent of how you got the Cloud Serpent mount from Alani in Mists of Pandaria.
Collect 10 Crackling Shards
In order to obtain the Alunira mount you will need to collect 10x Crackling Shard. These have a very low drop chance from mobs in the Isle of Dorn zone.
There doesn’t seem to be any mob that drops them more frequently than others, but one farm spot that a lot of groups are using at the moment in the group finder, is the same location as where you farm the Reins of The Soaring Meaderbee mount, which is near the Cinderbrew Meadry in the north east of the Isle of Dorn.

You could also check the group finder for other potential group farms. Settle in for a long farm, as getting 10x Crackling Shard to drop will on average take a very long time.
Remove Alunira's Shield
Once you have obtained all 10 shards, you can combine them to create the Storm Vessel, then land near her and use it to remove the protective buff Alunira has, and then pull and kill her.
It’s worth noting that with Alani, a similar mount in Mists of Pandaria, whoever used the item was the one who got the mount, so it didn’t matter if others tagged her first or helped you out. We assume it’s a similar situation for Alunira.
