Priestess is a cheap and incredibly strong healer mini that was added to Warcraft Rumble on February 26, 2025. In this article, I will reveal all of its secrets and the details on how Priestess' abilities and talents really work, as well as what are the best talents to choose for Priestess.
Priestess Details
- Alliance
- 2 gold
- Ranged, Cycle, Elemental, One-Target, Healer
- 300 Health
- 2 Movement speed
Priestess is very sturdy for a 2-cost mini with Health equal to that of a Witch Doctor.
Priestess only has a weak attack in Smite:
- 35 physical damage
- 2.35 second attack speed
- 8 range
However, she more than makes up for it with her healing capabilities. Priestess has two healing abilities.
Greater Heal:
- 8 range
- Removes poison!
- 200 healing
- 4 second cooldown
- Targets mini with the most Health missing
Renew:
- 8 range
- 5 second cooldown
- 40 healing per second, 8 times = 320 total
- Does not stack
- Targets mini with the lowest Health percentage
- Priority cast ahead of Greater Heal
Priestess is a rare healer that can also cure poison with her Greater Heal ability. She will also maintain two copies of Renew on nearby allies: the first copy will end just as she casts the third one.
Priestess Healing Comparison
Her abilities make Priestess the best healer in the game in most situations.
Here is a comparison table of Priestess healing:
Priestess | Malfurion | Frostwolf Shaman | |
1 target | 90 per second | 50 per second | 40 per second |
2 targets | 130 per second | 100 per second | 80 per second |
3 targets | 130 per second | 150 per second | 120 per second |
5 targets | 130 per second | 250 per second | 120 per second |
Note that this is for an untalented Priestess, and that Malfurion's healing only starts when friendly minis fall below 30% Health, so his healing output rarely reaches its full potential. Priestess is also the only healer that can get improved healing from talents (Druid of the Claw can only heal with a talent, but cannot further improve from there).
Priestess Talents
Like all minis, Priestess has three available talents. The in-game descriptions don't tell you everything about them, so let's examine each in detail.
Empowered Renew
Casting Renew (heal over time) on an ally also heals them for 10% of their total health instantly.
Renew has a special undocumented interaction with the Ragnaros Leader mini: each Priestess only benefits from Empowered Renew once when casting Renew on Ragnaros. This means that you can get the effect on Ragnaros multiple times, but you need to cycle Priestesses to do it. Despite this, Empowered Renew is the best way to heal Ragnaros: Ragnaros has a -75% healing modifier, which renders most healing efforts on it lackluster, but the modifier does not affect percentage-based healing, so each application of Empowered Renew still heals Ragnaros for the full 10%. You need this talent if you want to heal up your Ragnaros effectively.
Empowered Renew is also great with the big tanks: Molten Giant, Abomination, and Swole Troll. The healing from it far surpasses any other healing available on those high-health minis.
Power Word: Shield
Periodically apply a shield on an ally, absorbing all damage for 2 seconds.
In case of Power Word: Shield, periodically means every 8 seconds. The spell also applies a debuff on the target that prevents them from receiving a Power Word: Shield for 8 seconds. In practice, one Priestess will cast the spell on a single target as often as possible, stacking Priestesses only helps to give the effect to multiple targets.
Power Word: Shield targets the mini with the lowest current Health. If you have a big tank at the front, they may not get damaged enough to receive the shield very often, if you have low-health minis around them.
Power Word: Shield works incredibly well with Malfurion, who typically uses smaller tanks like Bog Beast, and whose passive healing effect will have time to work on them while they are protected by the Shield.
Spirit of Redemption
On death, summon a Spirit of Redemption who heals nearby allies for 5 seconds.
The Spirit does not use the regular Priestess abilities. Instead, it has an aura effect that heals all allies within a range of 8 for 40 every 0.5 seconds, for a total of 400 healing to each nearby ally during the Spirit of Redemption's duration.
Given how strong Priestess' other talents are at keeping your frontline alive, it is hard to find a good scenario for Spirit of Redemption. It may have some PvP uses to make killing the Priestess a costly decision, but it is of limited use in PvE.
The Best Priestess Talents
All of Priestess' talents have some potential. I would pick Empowered Renew first because of its phenomenal performance with Ragnaros and big tanks. Power Word: Shield is a solid option if you like to play with cheaper tanks. This leaves Spirit of Redemption in the last place: its most likely uses will be in PvP, and you want high rarity for a PvP mini anyway.
