Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a game with a lot of items and a lot of information in its UI. All of that information can be pretty confusing, so in this guide we will help you understand the inventory interface but also better understand all about item quality, even for items that don’t seem to have a clear quality indicator.
Inventory UI Explained in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
There is a lot of information on the inventory interface, and we will go over each piece so you can spot the one that you need faster:
- You will find the item's icon, with indicators like a red hand if it’s stolen, a red drop if blood is on it, a glowing background if it’s a quest item, a brown splash if it's dirty and a yellow arrow if its upgraded with perks.
- Just right of the name, you will have the item quality: I, II, III and the last one, the fourth, which should be a “M”.
- The second column indicates if it’s in one of your build presets.
- Then you have the number of items in your bags.
- Its strength
- How much it’s damaged. Damaged food will give you food poisoning, and items you don’t repair will lose quality levels.
- After that, the weight
- And then, the theoretical maximum selling price. The price shown in the UI doesn’t guarantee that you will sell this item at this price, but if you found the right merchant, with a full reputation, charisma and speech, you could sell it at the shown price.
To better understand item quality, we just want to look at the item name, the number after the name and how much it’s damaged.
Potion Quality Explained in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
First, the name and the icon. The name won’t change for most items, a bad quality Dueling Longsword will have the same name as a great Duelling Longsword. But, for potions and alchemy, the quality will be indicated in the name. You can have 3 quality levels for potion: Weak, Normal or Strong. You will know which quality it is with the name “Weak Savior Schnapps” “Savior Schnapps” or “Strong Savior Schnapps”. The difference is felt mostly in the Strong potions, because those potions will have additional effects! It’s one of the reasons to get better at Alchemy.

Item Quality Explained in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Now, the most important statistic: the item quality level. The quality of an item will change the other stats: how fast it breaks, how much damage it deals or how much it protects you, how good it looks (how many charisma points it has) and, obviously, its price. The lower the quality, the worse.
You can find the first 3 quality levels in the open world, but for the fourth one you will need a perk: Martin’s Secret, found in Craftsmanship. This perk will unlock the fourth quality, the best one, but the only way to get items with this quality level is to craft them. If you are playing around melee weapons in your build, you will have to get this perk at one point to at least craft your endgame weapon, so it’s a good idea to get into Craftsmanship for the long run.
Now, you can’t directly improve an item's quality level. Once you crafted a weapon, it will stay at that quality. You can slightly improve the item statistics by sharpening your blades with the “Sharp like a Razor” Perk to give the weapon more damage, or repairing your armors yourself to get more bonuses depending on the perks you unlocked.
If you can’t improve the quality of an item, being reckless and never repairing can also lead to issues, dropping the quality of said item. It won’t drop below one, but item that get to the worst quality are, as you can guess, pretty bad. So don’t forget to repair frequently !
FAQ
Can I get Armors of the last quality?
Sadly, it doesn’t look like it, as you can only craft weapons, and even not bows.
How can I repair my boots?
To repair your boots yourself and get the appropriate perks buff, you need to find a Cobblers Kit.
Is quality 4 really that strong ?
Yes, it’s very good. But, KCD2 becomes an easy game once you’ve reached a level high enough in your main stats and the skills you’re most interested in. So getting better quality items is a good idea, but you can finish the game naked with a dagger.
