While adventuring in Bohemia, you will find a good amount of hand drawn maps, indicating usually a nice chest or other rewards. But understanding those maps isn’t always easy, as the drawings can be pretty misleading, and the maps are often not drawn the right way, but more from the point of view of the artist. Vidlak map is one of them.

To find the map, you will want to clear the bandit camp well north of Tachov, on a cliff. Once you get rid of everyone here, loot bodies and chests to find the map. Now that you have this map, get out of the camp and find the river west of it. This river should be running up north-west, just follow it all the way up.
Continue until you find the Hollow Tree, which, once found, should be marked on your map. Look around the tree for loot: you should find a silver cup and tinplate. It’s not a lot, and Henry is thinking so too. Just head south-east, in the general direction of the lake. Go forth until you find, on your right, the washed-up chest. Open it with the keys you found on the bandits or with lock picking. Generally, I would recommend trying to lock pick if you can, to get a bit of experience in Thievery. The lock difficulty is medium. Once you’ve opened the chest, you will get your hands on 300 Groschen, and a few valuables to sell.
The most interesting reward is one Golden Crucifix. If you are in the early game, hold onto it until you have a great reputation with a merchant with a lot of money in their pockets and a good charisma score. This can get you up to 1000 groschens if sold to the right person!

No, they aren’t. And there is no achievement linked to these maps, so do them when you want and if you want, this is a very side piece of content.
I can’t find the hollowed tree !
The tree has fallen inside the river, so you want to search the first pieces of loot inside the river as well.
What’s the fastest way to the chest ?
If you just found out that you have Vidlak Bandit’s Map in your bags and you ask yourself where you should go, the closest fast travel point is Vidlak’s Pond. It’s in the Trosky region, so you’ll have to get back there from Kuttenberg. Once in Vidlak’s Pond, cross the river and head north until you find the hollow tree.
