The Crystal Shaper Mission Guide

This guide focuses on the Heroic Crystal Shaper encounter in Un’Goro Crater, but also works for the normal version.

Other minis and map mechanics

There are three power crystals on the map:

• The green crystal gives a mini 4% health regeneration per second
• The red crystal increases a mini’s movement speed by +150%
• The blue crystal adds a frost aura that affects all minis that hit the aura bearer and reduces their movement speed by -50% and other action speed by -35%

The Crystal Shaper starts the fight with three Crystal Golems. In Heroic, the Golems are already buffed by all three power crystals. While the Golems are quite tanky, their damage is not very high. They have a cleave attack against ground minis and a single-target anti-air attack. The Golems can be stolen by a Banshee. There is a new wave of Golems every 60 seconds (at 2:30, 1:30, and 0:30).

The Crystal Shaper has attacks similar to those of the Golems. It also likes to switch between ground and air targets.

General strategy

Steal the Golem that comes down the right lane and use it to tank for your push to take the right Tower and proceed to the boss itself. Use flying minis as your main damage dealers.

Defend your base as little as possible: base health is a resource you can use. It may take a couple of attempts to figure out just the right amount of defense based on your specific opener.

You usually want to end the fight before the second wave of Golems spawns. However, it is also possible to defend your base and steal the right Golem again from the second wave, if your initial push is not successful.
