Tier Set Discussion:
Midnight starts out with fairly uninspired set bonuses. These passive numeric buffs don’t change how you play in any way.

Trinkets
In general, you will want an on-use trinket to pair with your cooldowns and a passive trinket providing stats.
In Season 1 of Midnight your on-use trinket options are:
Algeth’ar Puzzle Box is making a comeback as the premier on-use trinket. Do note that it does have a cast time, so you cannot just macro it to your cooldown. Use it before dropping your Surging Totem.
Alternatively, Emberwing Feather is solid if you are unlucky with your puzzle box or do not want to deal with its cast time.
The last option, Light Company Guidon, is generally not worth using. A 90 second cooldown does not pair nicely with your 1 minute cooldown windows.
On to the passive stat trinket options:
Even after multiple nerfs Gaze of the Alnseer is still one of the best passive trinkets. However, Radiant Plume is now equally good and you should look to obtain one of these two.
The new trinket Sporelord’s Mycelial Insignia from Rotmire does not compare to Gaze and Plume, don’t bother with it.
Alternatively, Heart of Wind can be farmed from Windrunner Spire until you can get your Gaze Of The Alnseer.
If you happen to just have a Solarflare Prism or Vessel of Tortured Souls fall in your lap, it is also okay to use. Do not go farming for this though.
Embellishments
I recommend crafting a weapon with Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt first. A Mythic item level weapon is a massive power spike at this point in the season, and as a dual wield spec you can always move it to your offhand after getting another weapon.
Any of the agility weapons work, but because of how professions work most Blacksmiths are most likely to specialize in axes at the start of the expansion, which means you will be crafting a Farstrider’s Chopper.
For your second embellishment I recommend Arcanoweave Lining on an armor piece.
Legs are a high budget slot that you are unlikely to replace until very late in the season, but you can pick any slot that you don’t have a Myth item level piece in. Later in the season move your embellishment to a low budget slot such as wrists or back.
Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcores)
Prioritize bonus rolling for the following items:
- Algeth’ar Puzzle Box - Algethar Academy
- Gaze of the Alnseer - Chimaerus the Undreamt God (IN ELEMENTAL LOOT SPEC)
- Any of the items from Rotmire
- Eye of Midnight - Midnight Falls
Alternatively, if you do not have access to Mythic Midnight Falls, you can bonus roll Nexus-Point Xenas for Omission of Light and Occlusion of Void after getting your trinkets.
Ascendant Voidcores
Prioritize upgrading the following items:
- Main hand weapon
- Algeth’ar Puzzle Box
- Gaze of the Alnseer
- Off hand weapon
Your main hand weapon will always yield the biggest increase from increased item level. Do not upgrade your off hand weapon before trinkets.
