Following the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date, people who started playing have probably met Johnny the Gob. Known as one of the Bandit Leaders, he was the one who chased and assaulted Henry and Hans' crew at the game’s start.
Most players will want to beat Johnny the Gob once and for all, but to do this, they need to know where to find him. Stumbling upon the elusive character isn’t easy, but we’re about to show you every step of the process. Let’s learn more about his location and how to defeat this powerful opponent.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Johnny the Gob - How to Start The Quest
Before worrying about making Johnny the Gob surrender, you should know how to start the task. The first step of the process is to beat Handsome Charlie, after which you need to talk to Guiles. This is when he explains that the next target is Johnny the Gob.
The character will be located on the western shore of the Lake, in the Trosky region, at the very spot where their journey began. You shouldn’t have any problems spotting him there because he will wear a green coat. Moreover, you will also see the Johnny the Gob shield, which is also green and has a goblin-looking face on it. Keep in mind that you will need to bring back the shield to prove that you have dealt with your opponent.
Beating Johnny the Gob in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
If you are wondering how to beat Johnny the Gob in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you can do a couple of things. One is to wait until midnight and simply try to poison your opponent’s food and wine. Although it may not seem effective, this will get the job done.
If you don’t want to do this, however, you will have to clear the entire camp before dealing with Johnny. Speaking of the camp, it has 7 bandits in total, so you need to be prepared for a tough fight. You could do several things, but we think using the Knight’s Longsword or a similar weapon is the best idea because it is effective against many opponents. Read the combat tips for more information on how to deal with multiple enemies.
What’s interesting is that this fight can have two possible outcomes (assuming you deal with the other bandits). You can try to go for the Johnny the Gob surrender option and let him go or execute him.
Should you kill Johnny the Gob or just let him go?
If you pay close attention to the original quest about dealing with Johnny the Gob in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you will notice you have options. Lore-wise, Johnny was a close friend to Guiles (the person you took the quest from), so you will be asked to spare his life if possible. Nevertheless, it is up to you to decide whether you want to do that.
If you want to keep him alive, you should find a way to talk to him in private. This can happen once he goes to the camp’s outskirts. If Johnny the Gob won’t surrender, your next step is to try and convince him in the middle of the fight. This may happen once you bring down most of the other bandits there.
Assuming that neither option works, you have no choice but to bring him down. Even though this will allow you to complete the quest, you will get less Speech XP and Groschen than you would have gotten if he was alive.
