In Dune Awakening, one of the first things you will want to do is to search out the four Class Trainers that complement your primary pick. Some of the Trainers are hard to find but this guide has you covered!
The game offers five classes – Mentat, Trooper, Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit and Planetologist – though only four can be chosen as your main class. The Planetologist can only be used as a secondary. Each class has its own trainer in the open world, and you’ll need to find them to unlock your abilities.
Pro tip: For your primary class, you will already have 'completed' the basic quest, so you can progress straight to the Advanced quest.

Planetologist Trainer (Basic) Location
The Planetologist is the only class that can’t be chosen at the start. You have to unlock it as a secondary class fairly early in the game. However, the trainer's location could very easily be missed.
You’ll find the Planetologist trainer, Derek Chinara, near Griffin’s Reach Tradepost. He’ll give you a quest to head towards the Testing Station 2, which sits below the rocks to the southeast. There’s a path on the western side of the rock formation that leads directly to him. He’ll ask you to retrieve a Minimic Film from inside the Testing Station, a long, enemy-filled location that doubles as a dungeon.
Inside the station, fight your way forward until you reach a large circular room with overgrown trees and a spiral staircase. Go down the stairs and follow the long corridor with a green energy door. Just before the door, you’ll see a glowing bookshelf. Go inside and open the case with the quest item. Hand it back to Derek to unlock the Planetologist skill tree.
Trooper Trainer (Basic) Location
The Trooper trainer, Ghavouri, is found just inside the entrance, to the left, of Griffin's Reach Tradepost and is accessible early in the game.
To unlock the Trooper class, speak with Ghavouri. He will assign you a quest called "Proving Grounds," which involves assassinating three targets: Aatu Golven at Kaleff’s Stand, Kirsi Tol in Shamal Tunnel, and Cardanus Ulun in Edgeway Cavern. These targets are located east, northeast, and south of Griffin's Reach, respectively. After completing these tasks, return to Ghavouri to unlock the Trooper skill tree.
Mentat Trainer (Basic) Location
You will need to find Samin Moro to begin your Mentat training. She is located outside of the base, down one of the large staircases with a blue light above her head. Her location is shown below, but she is at the bottom of a large staircase on the south side of the outside portion of the city. We've also given you a good way to approach her from the south.
Bene Gesserit Trainer (Basic) Location
To find the Bene Gesserit Trainer location above, it is on the southern part of the Shield Wall as it meets the Jabal Eifrit. This is located at the very top of the massive rock formation that dominates the area in the fortification of Helius Gate.
Head here to meet up with Sister Mesa, who will give you the quest "The Missing Pieces." Completing this quest will reward you with the Bene Gesserit Skill Tree and let you start to use those abilities. To unlock more, speak to Sister Mesa, who will explain your next step. There are six quests in total for each class, which slowly unlock the full tree.
Don't worry too much about rushing to get the trainer, as with Swordmaster, it will take some time. It's one of the reasons those two classes were highly recommended as starting classes due to this reason. That said, you will unlock these eventually, so don't worry about it too much.
Swordmaster Trainer (Basic) Location
Once again, located near the Shield Wall, but this time we are inside the Jabal Eifit region, slightly north of where we were for the Bene Gesserit trainer location. The trainer is located inside the Pinnacle Station Tradepost, which makes it easier to find as a map marker will eventually appear as you get close. For ease of reference, this build is also well lit up similar to other tradeposts.
Here we will find Arno, the Swordmaster Trainer. They'll send you the instructions to complete "Checking the Post," which, once completed, will unlock the Swordmaster. Swordmaster has a total of eight quests that you can do to unlock skills and weapons for the class.
Dune Awakening Advanced Class Trainer Locations
As you advance through Dune Awakening, you'll notice that to continue spending points in each class skill tree, Advanced Training is required. Once you have completed the basic class quest to unlock the skill tree for that class, you will also unlock the ability to progress to Advanced Training. Each class has a quest chain that is roughly 7-9 quests long. You'll find the starting point for each class quest chain below.
Planetologist Trainer (Advanced) Location

To access the Planetologist Advanced Trainer, you'll need to head to Imperial Testing Station No. 197 in West Vermillius. You will find the Advanced Trainer at the bottom of the 'pit' before you enter the dungeon proper. We have a full guide pinned at the start of this section.
Trooper Trainer (Advanced) Location

Located in the hub city of Arrakeen, you will need to go on a fairly long adventure to get there. Arrakeen is however easily accessible via fast travel, so just head to the fast travel NPC in any tradepost.
The Trooper NPC is located on the second floor of the inner market area. Head up to her and she will give you a quest after a series of dialogue options to "test" you as a Trooper.
Mentat Trainer (Advanced ) Location

Also located in Arrakeen is the Mentat Advanced Trainer. He is located at the back of the bar in the downstairs area. He will task you with a quest to complete. Once done, continue with his quests to unlock more training.
Bene Gesserit Trainer (Advanced) Location

The Bene Gesserit Advanced Trainer is also in Harko Village (accessible via fast travel). She is located on the lower level in a tunnel under the raised area, shown in the map image above. She is quite hard to spot due to the lighting in Harko, but look for the blue light to guide you.
Swordmaster Trainer (Advanced) Location

This time we need to head into Harko Village. This major hub is also accessible via fast travel, so again we recommend heading to the fast travel NPC in any tradepost (or from Arrakeen). He is located in the very back corner at the top of Harko Village. The map in here is a little wonky and won't always let you scroll up. Just head north until your map looks like ours above. Like other trainers, speak to them to get the quest to begin your Advanced Training.
