Now that you know about all of the Monster Hunter Wild monsters you will face, it’s time to go through each one. Whether you want to play with friends or alone, you must know how to overcome each obstacle because most encounters are hard.
Arkveld
One of the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters in beta that you will also find in the full game is Arkveld. His monster class is a Wyvern and is one of the game's toughest opponents.
If you look closely, you will see he has two appendages that look like a whip, giving the monsters a lot of range. In other words, dealing with him requires you to stay far away or close so that Arkveld can’t use them against you.
Using paralysis and poison should be enough to deal with the dragon.
Ajarakan
This primate-looking monster in Monster Hunter Wilds is a Fanged Beast and is very fun to go against. Besides doing a lot of damage, he can also enrage and become molten-hot. Therefore, it is a good idea to use some kind of water weapon if you want to bring him down faster.
You can find Ajarakan in the Oilwell Basin or Wyveria.
Balahara
This Leviathan is one of the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters, but instead of being Aquatic, he is located in the Windward Plains, meaning he is in the sand. The interesting part of this encounter is that Balahara can burrow into the ground and do a lot of damage to those trying to hunt it.
With that said, Balahara is still a water monster, so you can use paralysis or even thunder when fighting. Just be careful not to fall into the traps.
Chatacabra
The next name on the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters list is Amphibian, and it is located in the Windward Plains. This is one of the easier opponents to deal with because all you need to do is be careful when it attaches objects to do extra damage. Other than that, Chatacabra is fairly easy to bring down.
Doshaguma
This lion/bear-looking monster is a Fanged Beast that is usually not hard to bring down. However, the game also offers an Alpha Doshaguma, which is something you need to be aware of. The latter is strong and usually has at least a couple of other monsters with him. You can find Doshaguma in places like Wyveria, the Scarlet Forest, and Windward Plains.
Keep in mind that you will also face the Guardian Doshaguma. It looks similar to the “original version” but has an additional ability that makes it harder to overcome. This beast is only available in Wyveria.
Congalala
After the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters were revealed, it became clear that Congalala would be available again. This monster was also present in Monster Hunter 2, and it has the unique ability to… fart. Yes, that’s right, this monster farts, and the latter deals a lot of damage, so it’s best to avoid it.
The Fanged Beast can also use various breath attacks and can throw things at you, so be very careful. You can find it in Wyveria or the Scarlet Forest.
Gypceros
This is another of the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters present in the game’s original version and is now back. This beast is fast and deadly and can pretend to be dead to avoid attacks, so be very careful. This Bird Wyvern is found in Oilwell Basin, Wyveria, and Windward Plains.
Gravios
This Flying Wyvern was also present in Monster Hunter Wilds’s previous games and is back again. He can beam fire, vent poison gas, and do all sorts of other things to bring you down. Located in Oilwell Basin and Wyveria, Gravios is an opponent you will remember.
Lala Barina
Located in Wyveria and the Scarlet Forest, this Temnoceran monster looks very scary. The spider-looking creature uses webs and has a deadly stringer and big claws. If you are unlucky to see it enrage, you have to be careful not to get paralyzed because it can also do that.
Nu Udra
This is among the unique Monster Hunter Wilds monsters because it can ignite to do extra extra damage. Nu Udra is a Cephalopod located in the Oilwell Basin and looks a lot like Nakarkos. Despite its appearance, Nu Udra is not that difficult to deal with, especially if you remove its tentacles.
Rathalos
If you know anything about Monster Hunter, you know that this is one of the game’s icons. The Flying Wyvern is back in Monster Hunter Wild monsters but the good news is that it is fairly easy to bring down. You can find it in the Scarlet Forest, Wyveria, or the Oulwell Basin.
It’s worth knowing that there’s also a Guardian Rathalos that you can only encounter in Wyveria. This buffed version of the original beast looks a bit different and is a lot more dangerous.
Quematrice
This Brute Wyvern looks fantastic, and you can find it in Wyveria and the Windward Plains. It can spread fire by using a powder and then igniting it with its tail. Fortunately, you can get rid of the latter and make the fight much easier.
Rathian
The next on the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters list is Rathian, who is also a Flying Wyvern. This beast is famous for its poisonous tail, but overall, it’s not that hard to bring down. You can find it in the Oilwell Basin, Scarlet Forest, and the Windward Plains.
Rey Dau
The Windward Plains is home to many amazing beasts in Monster Hunter Wilds, and Rey Dau (Flying Wyvern) is probably the strongest one. Rey Dan has the ability to charge himself with electricity and deal tons of damage. The monster can also become a walking railgun that can one-shot hunters.
You need to learn how to avoid the attacks and focus on Rey Dau’s head if you want to kill him. The good news is that there’s a small cooldown after each attack, which will allow you to do more damage.
Rompopolo
This Brute Wyvern has a poisonous gas and can cause explosions, making it one of the harder monsters to bring down in Monster Hunter Wilds. You can find it in the Oilwell Basin.
Yian Kut-Ku
This is another name on the Monster Hunter Wilds monster list that was present in the game’s previous versions. Yian Kut-ku is a Bird Wyvern located in the Scarlet Forest and Iceshard Cliffs. Although the fight is not that complicated, it can be annoying because this monster uses a variety of things to attack you.
Uth Duna
If you are looking for the “baddest” monster in the Scarlet Forest, this is it. Uth Duna is a Leviathan that can create a shield, making it a lot harder to kill. One thing that hunters do is use a thunder weapon because it is highly effective in these scenarios.
This monster has fangs and claws and can slam with its bulk, so you need to be careful.
Guardian Fulgur Anjanath
If you like T-Rex-looking monsters, this is something you will enjoy. Once all the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters were revealed, we saw this Brute Wyvern located in Wyveria. He can deal a lot of damage and is hard to bring down. The only good news is that you can remove its head, tail, and legs and make the fight more manageable.
Hirabami
Hirabami is another Leviathan that is surprisingly hard to fight because it’s usually in groups. Located in Wyveria and Iceshard Cliffs, you should remember to use the Dung Pond to separate one from the rest. In terms of the actual fight, Hirabami can charge and fly, so you need to be extra careful.
Xu Wu
Another intriguing name on the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters list is Xu Wu and it is a Cephalopod located in Wyveria. This beast is hard to overcome because of its numerous tentacles, but you can try to remove some of them to take it down easier.
Nerscylla
The giant spider in Monster Hunter Wilds is a Temnoceran, and you can find it in Wyveria, Iceshard Cliffs, and Oilwell Basin. As expected, Nerscylla uses tons of webs, and she can poison you. On top of all that, this monster also has hatchlings, making it even more difficult to kill her.
Jin Dahaad
This is Leviathan, which you can find in Iceshard Cluffs. You need to be very careful because it can one-shot you. As long as you avoid that, however, the fight itself should not be that dangerous.
Zoh Shia
Considering this is one of the final bosses in Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s no surprise that this Construct is very hard to deal with. Located in Wyveria, Zoh Shia deals tons of AoE damage and is extremely tanky. We believe it is almost impossible to deal with him on your own, so you will probably need to call a friend to help.
Guardian Ebony Odogaron
This is another Construct found in Wyveria, and it is swift and annoying and has the ability to do a lot of damage. It can even blast different crystals that will do damage and catch you off-guard.
Gore Magala
Among the most intriguing names on the Monster Hunter Wilds monster list, Gore Magala is a Demi Elder Dragon located in Iceshard Cluffs. You can only face him later in the High Rank, and when that happens, the fight won’t be easy.
Unlike all other monsters, this one can benefit from a mechanic called Frenzy. Without diving deep into it, it will make him stronger, but the good news is that you can dispel it. Killing this dragon is easier said than done, so make sure you have some kind of thunder, dragon, or fire weapon against it.
Blagonga
Lastly, we have the Blagonga the Fanged Beast located in Iceshard Cliffs. You will first encounter this beast once you start doing the “What we Protect” question.
As expected, the fight with Blagonga seems similar to the one with Congalala. Depending on how it goes, you should be able to bring it down fairly easily using fire and thunder weapons.
