The Happy Place Trophy is not one many players will stumble upon naturally. Japan is a big place, but it's also a very mountainous part of the world. As such, Shadows has a trophy tied to reaching the highest point on the map.
Getting to the highest point on the map isn't the easiest thing to do, and it's certainly not a place you will just discover as you play. It's a little out of the way, and off the main path the quests will take you. So, below, we've put together a little guide to make getting the trophy/achievement easy.
Getting to the Highest Point in Assassin's Creed Shadows
The image below shows where you will want to to start if you wish to use the Pathfinder to reach the peak, just west of the Yoshino map marker.
At the start of the game, the highest point on the map is not advised, as Yamato is a 30+ level zone. You can still go at the start, but there really is no need to rush.
To get up the mountain, you need to find Mount Hakkyo, located in the southern region of Yamato. Even if you've not discovered the area, you can see it thanks to the map image of a mountain range.
To climb Mount Hakkyo, head to the base of the mountain and activate the pathfinder function by pressing left on the d-pad or TAB on the PC. From there, just follow the very narrow path to the top of the mountain to claim your view and trophy/achievement.
The final location can be seen on the map below, plus a bonus fast travel spot.
Pro tip: Even though Naoe has more agility, it doesn't matter which character you select for the ascent. Simply use your horse and activate the Pathfinder feature.
Happy Place Trophy/Achievement
In Assassin's Creed Shadows, you'll earn the Happy Place trophy or achievement by reaching the highest point on the map. This will unlock as you initiate the Sync point; you'll also get a nice bit of XP. There isn't much to discover at the peak of Mount Hakkyo, so the only incentive to climb it is to enjoy the view and unlock the trophy or achievement. We suggest going at night for some even more amazing views.
FAQ
How High is Mount Hakkyo
Mount Hakkyo is 1,914.6 m (6,281 ft) in real life. It's more like a really big hill, but for the sake of Assassin's Creed Shadows it's pretty big.
What's the Highest Point in the Assassin's Creed Series?
Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Taygetus Mountains stands at 7887ft or 2404m and is the highest peak in the series. Somewhat amusingly, this isn't the highest mountain in Greece, that goes to Mount Olympus. Which seems like a weird ommision from a game set in Greece and about the Greek Pantheon.
Is Mount Hakkyo a real place
Yes, and while Assassin's Creed Shadows takes some artisitic licence with where it is in the game, you will find it in roughly the same place in real life.
