Crimson Desert Trading Guide: How to Trade Goods And Make Money With Wagons

Written by Geekmandem - 26th March 2026

You will obtain Trade Goods fairly early in your adventures in Crimson Desert, but you will likely not fully understand how they work until you start to upgrade your camp. These "blue-tier" items are unique in effect around Pywel, and are a major source of income if you put in the effort.

Once you unlock the Wagon Post in the Greymane Camp, you can start to develop this amazing gold-making scheme.

Where to Sell Trade Goods in Crimson Desert

You can’t just offload these at any old general merchant. You have two distinct paths depending on how much "legwork" you want to do:

1. Black Markets (The Quick Fix)

If you have a few stray items and don't want to deal with the logistics of a wagon, head to a Black Market. The returns are significantly lower, but it requires zero preparation.

  • Location: There is a reliable Trade Goods Black Market on the West side of Hernand town (Southeast of the jail). You can see it in the image below. There are nine in total on the map, but this is the first one you will have access to.

2. Trading Posts (The Professional Route)

This is where the real money is made. Trading Posts allow you to sell packaged goods in bulk for high-margin profits.

The right map shows what these look like on your map. Make sure to be in the "All" or "Faction" tab (filter) to show these on your map

Key Locations:

  • Goldleaf Guildhouse: Opens up specifically after you defeat the Kailok the Hornsplitter boss. These are located all over the map, you can see one example in the image above but on the map, they will all appear the same.

Hornsplitter is the first boss you will face as part of the main story and the final boss of Chapter 2.

How Trading Works In Crimson Desert

Trading is quite involved, so we've broken down the exact steps below to help make it simpler.

Step 1: Unlock the Wagon Workshop

You can't carry bulk goods on your back. You need wheels. Here's how to get yourself a Wagon:

  1. Develop the Greymane Camp at Howling Hill to Level 2
  2. Complete all "Embers of Return" Greymane quests
  3. Finish Brice’s Request to officially open the Wagon Workshop
  4. Complete the Dispatch Wagon Crafting Mission from Timberturner Wainwriter (located West of the House of Healing)
  5. You will need an Engineer Comrade if you don't already. We'll explain how after the image

Pro Tip: There will be multiple of these Wagon Crafting Misisons. From top to bottom, the top being the "worst" wagon of the three. If you rush the wagon quest, you will likely only be able to do the Old Wagon; however, it's worth spending a bit more time to get the Trading Wago once you have 10 Comrades.

Getting the Engineer Comrade

An Engineer comrade is required for this mission, and it takes a little time to get them.

The quest required to unlock the first Engineer Comrade

  • Once you have completed the Embers of Return set of quests in the Grounds of the Sunrise Faction Quests, you will unlock Gathered Will
  • Gathered Will is the set of "rumors" quests where we unlock comrades. The quest we need is "A Rumor in St. Halssius."
  • To get this, you must complete the first four missions: News of Comrades - A Rumor at Hook Rapids - New Information - A Rumor at Goldleaf Trading Post
  • Completing A Rumor at Goldlead Trading Post will then unlock the new "Reuniting with Comrades" sub quests.
  • You can then do any of these four, but A Rumor in St. Halssius is the one we want to unlock Arnold

Pro Tip: If all you want to do is progress you camp, focus on the "Grounds of the Sunrise" quests

Step 2: Package Your Goods

Traders in Pywel don't buy loose items; they buy inventory-ready crates.

  • Visit Carl, the Provisions Keeper, at your camp
  • Pay 100 Copper per item to have them packaged

Note: Traders only buy in bulk! You generally need at least 25 of a specific item to make a sale.

Step 3: Load the Wagon and Check the Market

Talk to Brice to retrieve your wagon. You can load it directly from your personal inventory or your camp’s storage.

Pro Tip: Before you start driving, use the Map Function to inspect distant Trading Posts. Check which ones are buying your specific goods at a "High" price percentage to ensure the trip is worth the fuel and time.

Step 4: The Profit Loop

Drive your loaded wagon to the destination and speak to the Manager to sell. Once your wagon is empty, don't head home with an empty flatbed! Buy local goods from that Trading Post and map out a route to a different post to keep the silver rolling in.

How to Get Better Wagons in Crimson Desert

As your trading empire grows, your starter wagon won't cut it. To upgrade your carrying capacity:

  1. Ensure Greymane Camp is Level 2
  2. Head to the Timberturner Wainwright (located West of the House of Healing)
  3. Commission a new build. Once finished, these high-capacity wagons will appear at Brice’s workshop for your next haul
