Introduction

Welcome to Method's Devourer Demon Hunter guide for Midnight. I'm Hype, top 50 raider since the end of Dragonflight. I’ve spent numerous hours testing Devourer in the Midnight Beta, both in Mythic+ and raid testing.

Devourer Demon Hunter Basics

Devourer Demon Hunter is the latest specialization to be added to World of Warcraft.

Devourer Demon Hunter Overview:

  • Uses Intellect as their primary stat
  • Uses Fury as main resource, and Soul Fragments as secondary resource
  • Consuming souls generates Fury, and eventually gives access to Void Metamorphosis
  • Void Metamorphosis passively drains Fury, ending when it reaches 0
  • Collapsing Star is castable inside Void Metamorphosis, if talented
  • Most abilities have a maximum range of 25 yards
  • Shift provides great mobility
  • Hero Talents: Void-Scarred and Annihilator

What has changed

Devourer Demon Hunter Changes in Patch 12.0.5

  • Feast of Souls is no longer capped at 20 stacks. This change also serves as a bugfix for the talent, where going above 20 stacks could cause some applications to expire quicker than intended.
  • Soul Immolation no longer deals damage to the Demon Hunter, but instead heals for 24% of your maximum health over its duration.
  • Spontaneous Immolation has received a rework. Instead of having a 5% chance to proc when casting a spell, it now causes Soul Immolation to heal for an additional 6% health, and killing an enemy that provides experience or honor resets its cooldown.
  • Sweet Suffering has been nerfed from 2 / 4 seconds, to 1 / 2 seconds.

The Void-Scarred tree has received numerous changes:

  • Burning Blades now affects Hungering Slash. It no longer triggers from Reap, but instead increases Reap’s damage by 20%.
  • Student of Suffering increases Mastery by 4% and grants 2 Fury. Previously this was 8% Mastery and 5 Fury.
  • Blind Focus increases cosmic damage by 2%, down from 3%.

Untethered Fury, Monster Rising and Violent Transformation have received additional bonuses:

  • Untethered Fury increases Void Ray damage by 15%.
  • Monster Rising increases Collapsing Star damage by 15%.
  • Violent Transformation increases The Hunt’s damage by 25% and resets Soul Immolation’s cooldown.
