Best Plunderstorm 2025 Builds

Written by Roguery - 17th January 2025

Plunderstorm has many viable builds and adapting to what skills you get can improve your win rate dramatically. While the list below is not a complete list of the only builds viable to win in Plunderstorm, it includes a collection of some of the best builds we have had success with whilst enjoying the latest version of the Plunderstorm gamemode.

We recommend trying out a variety of ability loadouts and finding some build combinations that you like the most, but hopefully the recommended ability builds below help you get started.

Plunderstorm Ability Builds

We have broken down our recommended best builds into different playstyles that we have found to work well.

Poke Ranged Builds

Ranged Poke builds use abilities to hit enemies from far away to whittle down their health and combine them with utility abilities to keep enemies at a distance.

Rime Arrow + Mana Sphere + Fade to Shadow + Faeform

Use Rime Arrow as often as possible to chip away at your enemies health, making sure to stay in range to interrupt Health Brew. Use Fade to Shadow and Faeform to kite enemies.

Mana Sphere + Celestial Barrage + Fade to Shadow + Windstorm

Use Windstorm to stun the enemy to more easily land Mana Sphere and Celestial Barrage. Celestial Barrage can be used to snipe enemies from very far away and prevent them from healing.

Mana Sphere + Storm Archon / Holy Shield + Fade to Shadow + Faeform

Similar to the Celestial Barrage playstyle, however we recommend taking Faeform over Windstorm if possible, as you do not have as much range as Celestial Barrage.

Aggressive Melee Builds

Aggressive Melee builds using short range abilities, usually trying to take advantage of sneaking up on an enemy with invisibility or Hunter’s Chain to close the distance.

Searing Axe + Flame Whirl + Hunter’s Chain + Fade to Shadow / Faeform

Use Hunter’s Chain to engage enemies, usually by pulling them to you to line up a Searing Axe followed up with a Flame Whirl. Use Fade to Shadow or Faeform to disengage if you are in trouble or to close the distance to engage an enemy.

Earthbreaker + Searing Axe / Flame Whirl + Windstorm + Fade to Shadow

Use the invisibility from Fade to Shadow to line up an easy Windstorm which makes enemies an easy target for Earthbreaker. Follow up with a Searing Axe or Flame Whirl to almost 1 shot other players.

Toxic Smackerel + Slicing Winds + Fade to Shadow + Faeform

Use Slicing Winds to engage and dash through enemies, then hit them with the Smackerel. You can then use your utility skills to avoid counter attacks and repeat.

Earthbreaker + Searing Axe / Fire Whirl + Quaking Leap + Fade to Shadow

Stun targets with Quaking Leap and follow up with an Earthbreaker and Searing Axe / Flame Whirl combo to almost instantly kill players. Use Fade to Shadow to reset and heal if you need to.

Build Combos

These can be really powerful ability builds, but can be really hard to pull off and usually perform better in duos where someone else can help lock-down players.

Earthbreaker + Star Bomb + Void Tear + Fade to Shadow

While being chased by another player drop a Void Tear, after a short time start casting Earthbreaker. When the player runs over your void tear teleport back guaranteeing a hit with Earthbreaker, follow up with a Star bomb to instantly kill any other player.

This is not a full list of the best builds, you can definitely make all the abilities in Plunderstorm work, a lot of it comes down to practice and personal preference with the abilities available in the game mode.
