Feltotem's Fall Mage Tower Guide

Feltotem's Fall Mage Tower Guide

Written by Paul and Leyst - 28th November 2021

The Feltotem's Fall mage tower can be completed by Beast Mastery Hunter, Windwalker Monk, Discipline Priest, and Destruction Warlock. This challenge is a 2 phase encounter where you fight against Tugar Bloodtotem and Jormog the Behemoth.

Phase 1:

Tugar Bloodtotem:

  • Fel Burst is an interruptable spell that deals a considerable amount of damage
  • Earthquake will cause rocks to fall from the ceiling, damage anyone standing in it, and spawn eggs that will hatch into small worms that spew acid on the ground. This will also cause Jormog the Behemoth to submerge and cast Jormog’s Fury. If Jormog hits one of the rock piles, it will lose a stack of Fel Hardened Scales, which is very important because the stacks decrease the damage it takes by 10%
  • Fel Surge Totem will spawn periodically throughout the encounter and will stun you for 5 seconds
  • Fel Shock is an unavoidable ability that deals fire damage

Jormog the Behemoth:

Tactics:

During the first phase, you want to interrupt Fel Burst because it deals a considerable amount of damage. When you see a totem spawn, you want to kill it right away to avoid the 5-second stun, which could potentially kill you. You also want to make sure to stop casting when Jormog the Behemoth casts Sonic Scream so you don’t get spell locked.

Jormog the Behemoth will start with 9 stacks of Fel Hardened Scales that you need to remove by making Jormog charge into the piles of rocks that fall when Tugar Bloodtotem uses Earthquake. The best way to do that is by standing close to the rocks when Jormog the Behemoth submerges and is about to charge you. The more stacks you can remove during the first phase, the easier it will be to kill during the 2nd phase.

Phase 2

Jormog the Behemoth:

Tactics:

After Tugar Bloodtotem is defeated Jormog the Behemoth will gain 150% increased damage and stay stationary. The only ability you have to worry about during this phase is Sonic Scream, and here are a few examples of how you can deal with it. As a warlock, you can use fear or stun, Hunters can use Intimidation or Freezing Trap, and Monks can use Leg sweep or Paralysis. You can also use defensive cooldowns to stay alive if you don’t have any interrupts available.

Class Tips:

This section will talk about the class-specific tips for this challenge.

Windwalker Monk

Tips:

Phase 1

During phase 1 you will encounter Tugar Bloodtotem. Fel Burst is the most crucial ability to keep an eye out during this phase. You want to interrupt it with Paralysis, Leg Sweep, or Spear Hand.

When the eggs spawn after an Earthquake, you can use Whirling Dragon Punch to kill them quickly.

In phase 1, the boss will also use Fel Shock, an uninterruptible spell; however, you can quickly heal through it by using abilities such as Chi Wave, Good Karma, and Expel Harm.

Phase 2

During phase 2, you will fight Jormog the Behemoth. This phase is a DPS race, so you want to use all of your cooldowns and potions to nuke it down as fast as possible. When Behemoth casts Sonic Scream, you can use Leg sweep and Paralysis to interrupt the cast.

Destruction Warlock
