Whether you're a guild leader crafting the perfect raid group or a player aiming to maximize your impact and secure your raidspot, this tier list evaluates each class and specialization based on their performance and utility in this specific raid environment.
This raiding tier list for the Liberation of the Undermine Raid has been written in collaboration with Method raiders.
Tier List Disclaimers
This tier list will be attempting to rank the strength of each spec when it comes to Raiding content from an output perspective. Keep in mind this does not factor in player skill and can change quickly with both nerfs to the raid as well as class tuning.
Although this tier list was written with Mythic in mind, the tier list ranking still applies to the other difficulties of the Liberation of the Undermine Raid.
Keep in mind that some of the specs rankings could be impacted by having an appropriate split of ranged and melee. They either make the fight easier or could be required for specific mechanics.
The tier list is ranked by role and within their roles (Tanks > Melee > Ranged > Healers) and thus we are not ranking specs outside of their respective roles.
On top of this, it’s always very important to remember that every single spec in the game is more than capable of clearing the raid, so don’t feel forced to play a spec you don’t enjoy just because of a tier list. Bringing the best player almost always trumps bringing a more “meta” spec outside of having your raid buffs covered, as an individual’s skill can close the gap between different specs.
Spec Rankings Explained
In terms of how the specs were ranked, these are the criteria used for each tier:
S Tier - Reserved for the specs with the highest throughput that also bring with them tools unique to their spec or class which is extremely impactful in this season’s raid. All or most of these specs were present in the race to world first compositions.
A Tier - Specs that have extremely high throughput but are slightly behind the S tier specs when it comes to either damage, durability, or utility. Most of these specs were present in the race to world first compositions.
B Tier - More niche specs that are powerful when used in the right hands, but tend to be lacking in at least one category relative to specs higher up in the list. Some of these specs were present in the race to world first compositions.
C Tier - In the final tier we have specs that are below average when it comes to throughput or raid use, and often are being outperformed by other specs of the same class that bring the same or better utility, defensiveness, or damage. These specs were rarely present in the race to world first compositions.

Special Notes:
- Affliction Warlock is considered S-tier on Bandit.
- Destruction Warlock is considered S-tier on Mug’Zee.
- Discipline Priest is really sticking out as a top tier healer this tier. The spec loses value when there is more than 1 in the raid.
- Survival Hunter is in a decent place in terms of throughput but overshadowed by its ranged counterparts in a raid that favours ranged over melee.
- Unholy Death Knight is in a really good place in terms of damage (and useful if you need grips and don’t play a Blood DK) but overshadowed by melee who bring more to the raid than damage.
- Holy Priest, Preservation Evoker and Resto Shaman are in similar positions and are all still playable, just not the top end in terms of either throughput, raid compatibility and/or tools needed on the fights.
