Lucid Nightmare Mount Guide: Patch 7.3

The Lucid Nightmare is a mount that was added in Patch 7.3. Thanks to the hard work and efforts from the players known as the Secret Finders, we went through the process to breakdown how to get this mount.

Before you begin the steps to get this mount, you will want to do a couple of things first:

Acquire the Shadoweave Mask and have it on you. You will need this later. You can buy it from the Auction House if you do not know a tailor that has this pattern.
Make sure you block out a few hours for the final step because it is lengthy.
Download the addon Lucid Nightmare Helper. You will need this for the final puzzle.
Make sure you follow the below steps as they are outlined. They have to be completed in order.

Step 1

Go to the upper level of Curiosities & Moore shop in New Dalaran.
- Coordinates: 49,55
Click the scroll on the table.

Step 2

Go to Ulduar in Storm Peaks which is located in Northrend.
You will want to enter the raid. This can be done on any difficulty.
Kill the first boss which is the Leviathan, then head to XT-002 Deconstructor
Kill everything in the room. You do not have to, but it will make this step easier to just get that out of the way.
Once that is done, in the Northwest corner by the pile of scrap there is a rusty lever for you to click on.
A 20 by 20 grid of Scrapyard Lights will appear. You can use this image to know which ones you need to turn on. Green is for on, black is for off.

Once the final light is turned on, they will disappear and 4 red ones will appear in the center of the room along with the scroll to click on.
- These scrolls will appear after you have completed each step. If you do not see the scrolls, you either did not complete it correctly or you did not do the steps in the right order.

Step 3

Head to Ahn’Qiraj in Silithus.
- Coordinates: 47, 7
Make your way to the Vault of C’Thun once inside the instance.
Click on the glowing Mind larva located on the table.
This will begin a bejeweled game in which you will complete when you accumulate a certain amount of points.
- There is no confirmation on the amount of points it takes to finish.
  - However, if you can manage to match 5 brains, you will instantly.
    - While this has not been confirmed, after barley starting the game, matching the 5 brains did work for me, while others state it did not work for them. I had not been doing the puzzle long enough progress with points. Not sure if this was a fluke or bug.
    - There is no confirmation that matching any other 5 symbols will do the same.
- When you have completed the point objective, it will pop you out of the game and the next scroll will be on the table.

Step 4

Head to Crumbling Depths cave in Deepholm.
The cavern is located just a bit south of Therazane's Throne.
- Coordinates: 58,25
- Put on the Shadoweave mask we talked about earlier.
- At about 63.76 22.51, there will be a fissure you can click on.
- You will be ported to another cave.
- Once inside, there is a skull in the chair that you will click.
  - If you do not see the skull in the chair, double check that you have the Shadoweave Mask on.
  - The scroll will appear in front of the chair on the ground.

Step 5

Head to Gnomeregan by taking the Ironforge portal.
Follow the path here on the map to get to these levers.

You will need to switch on each lever with the matching number as I have here in the picture.
- The numbers need for the levers are: 1222176597.

Once the last lever is correct, the scroll with appear on the floor.

Step 6

Head to Val’Sharah. Take the flight path to Starsong Refuge and fly to Ash’theran.
- Coordinates: 66,36.
Go inside the house and click the Nightmare Tumor.
This will start a puzzle that is like Blingtron's Circuit Design Tutorial.
The idea is to untangle the red lines so they all turn blue.
Once this is done you will find the scroll by the Nightmare Tumor.

Step 7

The next step is the last puzzle portion of our little adventure. For me, this took about and hour and half.
- Coordinates: 53,49.
Now you will want to use the addon, the Lucid Nightmare Helper.
- Use the command /ln to open the addon once you are inside the Endless Halls.
Make sure you have enough time to complete this step because once you enter because if you leave or log out, you will have to start over.
Take the portal to Pandaria and take the flight path to One Keg in Kun-Lai Summit.
Go from there to the Valley of Emperors.
- Coordinates: 53,49.
Inside the Tomb of Secrets at the base of the Mogu statue, there is an urn you will click.
Once you accept the warning given, you will be take the Endless Halls
The rooms you enter are random.
Each players instance of the Endless Halls is different, so there is no way to know where any of the orbs or runes may be.
You can only hold one orb at a time.
Using the addon you can use it mark the rooms with orbs and runes so that you can follow your path back.
Sometimes you will cross a threshold with the addon/rooms and lose your place and will have to start marking the rooms over again.
Toward the last two runes, I figured out the pattern for my instance and was able to finish it.
You will grab and orb and take it to the room with the same colored rune.
Click on the table and you will drop the orb on the rune, thus fusing it.
Once you have completed all 5 runes, just walk out of the room and you will be ported to the final room.
The scroll will be on the table.

Final Step

Go to Karazhan via the portal in the center of Dalaran.
Go the the Forgotten Crypt.
- Coordinates: 39,73.
Navigate through the crypt to the Pit of Criminals.
Click the glowing Puzzlers Desire and learn this awesome mount!
