Best Skinning Farm TWW
It's time to make loads of gold with that trusty skinning knife! Below we’ve highlighted the top farm location for gathering valuable leather and hides.
Best Specialization Build for Skinning Farming
To optimize your skinning, spend 40 points in Tanning to unlock the third charge of Sharpen Your Knife, boosting material returns. Next you should choose between Concrete Chitin or Luxurious Leathers, with Luxurious Leathers being better for long term profits.
After completing the Tanning tree, put 40 points into Harvesting to increase the chance of finding Bizarrely-Shaped Stomachs, this will help your overall GPH (gold per hour). Finally, improve looting by investing in Trophy Taker.
Group Farm or Solo-Friendly Elite Grind
The area marked on the map in the Isle of Dorn is packed with Bees and Wolves, making it a fantastic location for Skinning farms. However, many of the mobs here are Elites, so bringing a group is highly recommended to farm it efficiently and safely. The mob density and respawn rate make it a strong contender for high GPH farming when coordinated properly.
This farm can be drastically enhanced by joining a skinning group in the group finder, usually titled “Skinning 2x4” or “Bee Skinning” etc.

Mining and Herbalism are, as they have always been, highly profitable professions in The War Within. With the right route and talent build, you can min-max your gold from gathering. Below you will see the best farming route for both professions. This route has been made to help you gather the most ore and herbs in the shortest amount of time.
Note: Having Mining or Herbalism on your main character is a great way to earn extra gold between activities. Instead of flying around Dornogall (we’re all guilty of this), use that time efficiently to gather ore or herbs! This will likely earn you enough gold for consumables, and with consistent farming, you’ll also cover your monthly WoW Token.

Fishing in Hallowfall
Consider picking up fishing and soaring around Hallowfall for Blood in the Water nodes. Kaheti Slum Shark usually sell for significant gold each on the Auction House, especially if you’re selling around raid time. You can also make a solid amount of gold by casually fishing while also picking up mining and herbalism nodes between casts!
Note: Shore wreckage/debris nodes not only give valuable items but also provide transmogs and rare permanent boosts to fishing skill and perception!
Best Crafting Gold Making TWW
Crafting is an incredible way to make gold right now in The War Within. With the complete overhaul of the crafting system at the start of the expansion, including the introduction of Profession Stats and Profession Gear, crafting has become more optimized than ever. If you want to compete at any serious level in the auction house economy, you’ll need to use two key addons: CraftSim and ideally Trade Skill Master (you can download TSM directly from their website).
CraftSim handles the mathematical equations to calculate the likelihood of profits, while TSM provides the almost real time price data that Craftsim uses to make those calculations as accurate as possible. The result? Happy green numbers that tell you exactly what’s profitable to craft at any given moment, as shown below.
That being said, once you have the addons set up, you’ll soon love making gold this way, it’s quite addictive! It's extremely important to remember that the Auction House is constantly changing, and the economy fluctuates both up and down at a drop of a hat. On raid nights, for example, consumable prices tend to spike, only to drop right back down the very next day. This also drastically affects material prices, which can shoot up and fall again depending on raid schedules.
Tailoring & Enchanting Setup
Tailoring/Enchanting is an excellent choice for casual gold-making and a personal favourite, especially if you're multitasking between other activities like Mythic+ queues, PvP, or raids.
For Tailoring: Put your knowledge points into the Dawn/Duskweave trees and turn Concentration into gold with Spellthreads. You can also craft and sell bags (a steady market) or expand into crafting PvP gear.
For Enchanting: start investing knowledge points into disenchanting Blue and Green gear, then move through the Shatter tree. You can go around the entire TWW map and slay every rare for easy blue items to disenchant (DE). When you eventually get enough knowledge points it will be time to invest them into weapon enchant recipes and use your daily Concentration to craft high-ranking weapon enchants for big profits (sell them at raid time for best prices).
Flipping for Gold Making in TWW
Flipping items on the Auction House is a tried-and-true method for making gold, many goblins have been doing this type of gold making for many expansions but beware this is a more high risk high reward type of gold making.
When it comes to flipping in TWW we recommend focusing on items which can be flipped quickly. One of the best markets to do this is Raid BOE’s (bind on equip) items. You will often see these listed very low from a player who just wants a quick sale and you can relist these items for as much as double the price and still sell it within 2-3 days, effectively doubling your gold.
To then take it one step further, checking auction houses on different realms to buy the BOE’s low and trading the item to your main realm via a friend or second account and sell them high then you’ll be raking the gold in!
The beauty of this strategy is you don’t really need any addons to do this type of gold making. It is definitely useful to have an addon like TSM which will tell you the exact prices or average prices of items throughout all the various realms in the region but it’s certainly not a requirement. We recommend using TSM to be able to make the best buying decisions for your flipping gold making strategy. Having the ledger to keep track of your income versus expenditure is very useful for long term flipping success.
