During the campaign of The War Within you will be sent to Freywood Village. As you arrive there, you might notice the Dalaran Sewer Turtle Treasure pop up on your mini map just outside the village. If you move over to it you will notice a Dalaran Sewer Turtle and a Dalaran Sewer Rat.
Interacting with the turtle will inform you that the rat is injured, and if you collect a few Dornish Pike, you can help heal the rat. You will need 5 Dornish Pike. They can be purchased on the Auction House or you can fish them from Calm Surface Ripple fishing pools found in the Isle of Dorn, the Ringing Deeps and Hallowfall.
Once you hand in the 5 Dornish Pike you will be informed that it will take “some time” for the rat to be healed.
The next stage will appear about 10 minutes after handing in the Pike and will require you to hand in a single Goldengill Trout. These can also be purchased on the Auction House, or you can fish them from a Glimmerpool, Festering Rotpool or Infused Ichor Spill fishing pools which can be found in all 4 zones of Khaz Algar.
Once you hand the Goldengill Trout to the turtle, it will mention about leaving to look for the rest of their family.
The final stage will spawn around 10 mins after handing in the Goldengill Trout. The turtle and the rat can now be found to the north east of Dornogal in the Stoneshaper’s Atrium, together with three other turtles.
Talking to the turtle that is wearing a blue scarf will let the turtles thank you by dropping a bag which contains a small amount of Reputation and the Sewer Turtle Whistle, which is the Dalaran Sewer Turtle battle pet.
