How the Hyperthread Wristwraps Work and Where to Obtain Them

Written by Roguery - 6th March 2025

In Battle for Azeroth’s Operation: Mechagon dungeon a pair of cloth bracers dropped, called Hyperthread Wristwarps, which reduced your cooldowns. In season 2 of The War Within, they are making a comeback. In this short overview we explain how they work and where to obtain them.

How the Hyperthread Wristwraps Work

The Hyperthread Wristwraps have primary stats, but no secondary stats. Instead they have an on-use effect to reduce the cooldown on your 3 previously cast spells by 5 seconds. The use effect has a 2 minute cooldown. This means that if you cast 3 cooldown abilities in a row, and then use the bracers, all three cooldown timers will be reduced by 5 seconds. If your previous three casts didn't have cooldowns at all, you effectively wasted the effect.

The two previous times these bracers have been available, they have always been desired by Fire Mages, which you can read more about here in our Fire Mage Guide.

Other classes that might see some use of the Hyperthread Wristwraps are Discipline Priest or Destruction Warlock, although probably not to the same degree as Fire Mage.

Where to Obtain the Hyperthread Wristwraps

The Hyperthread Wristwraps are looted from Mechagon Workshop, which is part of The War Within Season 2 Dungeon Pool. This means you can obtain these on Heroic Difficulty or higher. The table below shows what Item level and upgrade track drops from which difficulty.

Difficulty Item Level Upgrade Track
Heroic 619 Adventurer 4/8
Mythic 636 Champion 1/8
Mythic +2 & +3 639 Champion 2/8
Mythic +4 642 Champion 3/8
Mythic +5 645 Champion 4/8
Mythic +6 & +7 649 Hero 1/6
Mythic +8 & +9 652 Hero 2/6
Mythic +10 655 Hero 3/6

The Hyperthread Wristwraps can drop for any cloth user, so make sure if you're farming these to bring along any of your cloth wearing friends to increase the chances of them dropping.

In order to obtain the myth track version of Hyperthread Wristwraps, you will need to get lucky and loot them from the Great Vault after completing one or more +10 key (or higher) the previous week. However, due to the lack of secondaries and the use effect not scaling with item level, there is not a massive difference between the Hero track and Myth track versions.

We hope this guide helped you understand how the Hyperthread Wristwraps work and where to obtain them. If you are looking for a bit more information on any classes that may use these, then check out or Class Guides.
