Nightfall Sanctum is a delve located in the north west of Hallowfall, just below the Priory of the Sacred Flame. This delve is a base for the Nightfallen, worshipers of Renilash.
There are 3 variants of Nightfall Sanctum:
- Dark Ritual
- Kyron’s Assault
- Signal Noise
Nightfall Sanctum Delve Overview
This section will cover things that are relevant to all versions of the delve.
Delve Mechanic
Artillery Fire is the mechanic of the Nightfall Sanctum delve. Throughout the delve you will find large purple circles. If you step in these the ground underneath you is targeted by artillery which come in a fairly large wave and deal significant damage if caught in.
Delve Mobs
These are the mobs that we felt were worth highlighting in Nightfall Sanctum.
Nightfall Hopestealer is a caster who cast Shadow Bolt, which is a moderate single target hit. If there are no other casts happening you can interrupt it.
Nightfall Inquisitor is a caster with a channel called Shadow Barrier which will cause all other nearby mobs to become immune. This channel can and should be interrupted. They will also cast Shadowbolt, like the above mob, but here it’s better to save your interrupt for Shadow Barrier.
Weeping Shade is another caster. These shades will cast Echo of Renilash at 30% health, which is a large circle that deals heavy damage to anyone caught inside when the cast finishes, so make sure to step out before the cast is over. These mobs also cast Shadow Bolt, see above.
Delve Boss
The boss for this delve changes depending on the variant so see individual sections for each delve.
Dark Ritual
The Dark Ritual variant of Nightfall Sanctum will be about stopping a ritual. The first objective is to destroy 11 Darkfire Braziers, which you do by clicking on them. The cast is fairly long and gets interrupted if you take damage so deal with the surrounding mobs before destroying the brazier.
You will then have to deal with the boss, who in this variant of Nightfall Sanctum is Speaker Halven.
His two main abilities are:
- Shadow Sweep is a narrow frontal cone in a random direction. He will turn in the direction before the cast so there is time to move away.
- Fire! targets a nearby player with a large ground effect which deals moderate damage if stood in, then spawns a flare at that location and moves any nearby Artillery Fire circles (delve mechanic, see above) to the flare.
Once the boss has died you will get an extra action button for a parachute, and clicking it will move you to the end of the delve.
Kyron’s Assault
In the Kyron’s Assault version of Nightfall Sanctum you must help The Great Kyron assault the Nightfallen. At the start of the delve you will be launched across the delve by a clicking on a ballista, landing at what is usually the end of the delve.
Your first objective is to collect Sanctified Supplies, which you see right in front of you as you land. Using the supplies you next have to dispel 6 large purple barriers, which can be found around the delve. This is done by clicking small urns on the side of each of the barriers. Each barrier has between 1 and 4 urns, however they are usually guarded by mobs and the Artillery Fire (delve mechanic) overlaps them. Also it’s noteworthy that standing inside the barriers will make you take heavy shadow damage over time.
Once you have dispelled all the barriers it’s time for the boss, who has been replaced with a group of Cult Leaders. One will do an ability similar to the Shadow Sweep of the usual boss. The other mobs behave identical to the Hopestealer mobs mentioned above.
Signal Noise
In this version of Nightfall Sanctum you will be able to move the Artillery Fire. At the start you loot Signal Flare from a chest, which gives you an extra action button. This will let you move the Artillery Fire circles (delve mechanic) to a selected area of your own choice. Use this to move whichever circles are in your way.
The first objective is to rescue 5 captives, who are surrounded by enemies and are usually inside Artillery Fire. The captives can be freed, by clicking on them, when the Inquisitor in each pack is killed.
The second objective is to collect 7 stolen relics, which are brown bags which you simply click on. It's a short cast to collect them, which will be interrupted by damage.
When you are done you can fight the boss, who in this version of Nightfall Sanctum is Speaker Davenruth and Reformed Fury.
Speaker Davenruth has 3 abilities:
- Shadow Sweep is a narrow frontal cone in a random direction. He will turn in the direction before the cast so there is time to move away.
- Speaker’s Wrath is a short channel which will spawn swirls around the boss and deal heavy damage to anyone caught inside.
- Blessing of Dusk is an interruptible cast which will buff the boss with 20% increased damage.
Once Speaker Davenruth is dead you will get the second boss: Reformed Fury.
Reformed Fury has 3 abilities:
- Echo of Renilash is a 3 second cast which will spawn a circle around the boss, which deals heavy damage to anyone caught in it when the cast finishes.
- Inflict Death is a long cast which deals heavy damage. This cast can and should be interrupted.
- Darkfire Vollet will summon a large swirl at the player, dealing damage if you are caught.
