The Spiral Weave Delve Guide

Written by Roguery - 22nd August 2024

he Spiral Weave is a delve located in the north of Azj-Kahet. It is a stronghold of the Nerubians so if you are afraid of spiders make sure you have arachnophobia mode enabled, which turns all spiders into crabs.

There are 3 versions of the delve:

  1. Tortured Hostages
  2. Strange disturbances
  3. From the Weaver with Love

The Spiral Weave Overview

This section will cover things that are relevant to all versions of the delve.

Delve Mechanic

The mechanic for The Spiral Weave is Nerubian Eggs, which causes a large amount of Crawler Eggs to spawn throughout the delve. These are targetable mobs and if you come in contact or directly damage the crawler eggs they will explode, dealing heavy damage to all creatures and spreading webs around their location. We recommend utilizing these when you can to deal with difficult mobs and even damaging the boss.

Delve Mobs

These are the mobs that we felt were worth highlighting in The Spiral Weave. If you have already done the another Nerubian delve you recognise most of them from there.

Nerubian Lord is a large elite Nerubian, who does a large frontal cone called Jagged barbs. It seems to target the person furthest away so quite often Brann, he is a hunter afterall. The Lord also channels Leeching Swarm, which spawns two fast spinning void zones, which if stood in deal heavy damage and heal the Lord for a proportion of the damage dealt. This ability is uninterruptible, so just make sure to not get hit.

Nerubian Slasher is a melee mob who deals heavy physical damage, and who also applies a nasty stacking bleed. Make sure you kill these fast if you can.

Nerubian Threadmancer is a caster. They only cast Web Bolt, a heavy single target damage ability. They can be interrupted or line of sighted, so use this to your advantage if you need to.

Nerubian Captain is a large melee mob, who casts an absorb shield which can be interrupted. The Captain is always accompanied by some smaller Skittering Swarmers and Ankle Biters.

Nerubian Fearmonger is a melee mob who deals very little damage. However, they have a cast which will form a large circle on the ground, which if stood in when the cast finishes will fear you for several seconds.

Skittering Swarmer is a melee mob who deals light physical damage. It has a frontal charge that can be side-stepped.

Nerubian Darkcaster is a caster who also deals light physical melee damage. They cast Shadowbolt; a large single target damage hit, which can be interrupted or line of sighted.

Delve Boss

The boss for The Spiral Weave is Overseer Kaskel, who is a large Nerubian. He is a copy of the boss in The Dread Pit delve.

Overseer Kaskel has 3 mechanics:

  • Rupture is a large avoidable frontal. He will pick a player target and after a short cast send out spikes in that direction. Being hit will deal heavy physical damage.
  • Burrowing Tremors will cause the boss to burrow underground and chase a player, dealing heavy damage to anyone nearby. Make sure to kite this ability.
  • Stinging Swarm is a groupwide AoE which deals heavy nature damage to all targets. Use defensives for this ability.

Tortured Hostages

In this version of the Spiral Weave you need to rescue some people who were captured when Dalaran crashed. In order to get to the hostages, you first need to kill six groups of Nerubians. Some of these groups can contain elite mobs, so approach with caution. All potentially scary mobs are explained further in the Mobs section above

Once complete you will need to free seven Webbed hostages. Click on these will free them after a short cast time, be wary as this cast time will be interrupted by damage and they are usually surrounded by enemies so make sure you deal with them before freeing the hostages, after this you make your way up to the final boss of The Spiral Weave.

Strange Disturbances

In the Strange disturbances you will start by fighting a single Peculiar Nerbuian it uses a skill set similar to the Nerubian Threadmancer. Once dead you can head to the loot room… After looting you will be teleported further into the delve. You will then get the objective to rescue 8 puppets this is done by targeting Alert Puppets and using the extra action button on them.

Enemies through this version will not be the standard set instead you will have enemies from every delve type. We would recommend checking our other delve guides to know what each mob does here.

Once you have freed all 8 puppets you can move towards the boss which is named the puppetmaster?. He will seem very easy and not have any special abilities once dead he will summon more adds which again seem very easy. His final version will be a replica of the actual delve boss.
