Pile of Rusted Scrap is a new uncommon material used for the Engineering Profession in The War Within. There will be a couple of ways to obtain it, the one we cover in this guide being drops from humanoid mobs throughout Khaz Algar; to be eligible for them to drop requires you to be an Engineer and they are soulbound.
We have highlighted a few locations to help you farm the Rusted Scrap you need to get your engineering journey started. These are Farming spots that we found whilst testing on the BETA, so it's possible that there are more alternative spots, or that these have been changed on live.
Waterworks
Located in the west of the Ringing Deeps is the Earthen Waterworks.
The Kobold that have overrun this area are a great source of Piles of Scrap. They are numerous and very easily killed and can be grouped up. In addition, they have a reasonably fast respawn rate even when doing this farm solo meaning you can just jump from pack to pack.
Delves
All delves are filled with Humanoids and while you will get less scrap than using a dedicated farming spot it's great if you wanted to do delves already, and you will get scrap at the same time.
Kreigval’s Rest and the Waterworks in particular have very high mob density.
It’s also worth noting that there are likely to be farming groups being listed in the group finder for a variety of different farming locations, which will often help to make the farming of Rusted Scrap much more efficient than doing it solo.
