Some of the most powerful items in Dune Awakening are not weapons or armor, but rather tools. Unique tools can dramatically improve farming efficiency but can also have great utility in combat and other situations.
Hopefully this Tier List can help you think about which Schematics are worth pushing for in the Deep Desert or the Landsraad.
Note: This Tier List will be a living Tier List, updated as we have the opportunity to try out more tools (when they appear in the Deep Desert Loot Tables).
Dune Awakening Best Tools - Tier List
This Tier List is focused solely on Mk6 Unique tools, the highest tier, and most powerful tools in the game.
S-Tier Discussion
The best items in the game, universally useful and a top priority in the Landsraad.
Kynes's Cutteray
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Kynes's Cutteray database page.
It's simple - Kynes's Cutteray is the best Cutteray in the game. It has the highest Mining Yields across the board including a whopping 31% higher than the Mk6 Cutteray for Titanium & Stravidium.
Unless you are part of a Guild that has set up Buggy stations on every single resource location, then you'll likely still be using a Cutteray regularly, so you'll want to pick this up whenever you get the chance.
Compact Compactor Mk6
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Compact Compactor Mk6 database page.
Another no-brainer. Spice is the most important crafting material in Dune Awakening and the Compact Compactor Mk6 makes farming it as safe and efficient as possible.
Not only does the Compact Compactor have the highest yield per shot and much lower worm threat, it also has much higher durability than the Omni-static Compactor, is lighter and also consumes less power! A must-have.
Adaptive Holtzman Shield
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Adaptive Holtzman Shield database page.
Shields are incredibly important to our survival in Dune Awakening and this is the best shield available. It has a Power Drain of 100% (vs 104%) and a Refresh Time of 0.5 (vs 0.6). It's simply the best survival item in the game.
A-Tier Discussion
Powerful or useful items, but usually somewhat niche or situational.
Hajra Literjon Mk6
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Hajra Literjon Mk6 database page.
This item is a little deceptive. At first glance you look at the Container Capacity and realise that it's only 3,000. That's 7,000 less than the standard Decaliterjon. However, where the Hajra Literjon shines is it's weight.
The Hajra Literjon only weighs 2v! This is 13v less than the Decaliterjon which means that yes, you will have to fill it up a little more often, but you will also be able to carry more ore, Spice and crafting materials every time you venture out. This is our go-to Literjon.
B-Tier Discussion
Decent items, situationally useful but probably not worth going out of your way for.
Omni-focused Dew Scythe
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Omni-focused Dew Scythe database page.
It's debatable whether or not this is quite B-tier quality considering once you reach the endgame of Dune Awakening you will mostly be generating water in the Deep Desert through Advanced Fremen Deathstills.
However, as far as dew-harvesting tools go, the Omni-focused Dew Scythe has by far the highest Water Yield in the game, 33% higher than it's Mk6 equivalent. It does however have a lower area.
C-Tier Discussion
Poor items which are of limited usefulness.
Collapsible Dew Reaper Mk6
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Collapsible Dew Reaper Mk6 database page.
The Collapsible Dew Reaper has a better Water Yield and area than the standard Dew Reaper. However, compared to the Omni-focused Dew Scythe it has a 40% lower Water Yield and ~45% lower Area.
There's no reason to carry a Dew Reaper around with you all of the time anyway, but even if you were to do so, the 7v saved is not worth the huge loss in effectiveness.
Filter Extractor Mk6
Source, stats & crafting info available at our Collapsible Dew Reaper Mk6 database page.
The Filter Extractor Mk6 siphons part of the blood extracted from a corpse straight into a Literjon as water. Although the effect on this Extractor is pretty cool and interesting, it's also unfortunately also pretty useless.
It's just not needed when it's so easy to keep a Hajra Literjon (or Decaliterjon) topped up from your water supply. The extra 4v of weight for the Filter Extractor, combined with the effort/inconvenience of extracting blood/water from bodies all the time, renders this a net negative overall.
The Baron's Bloodbag
Source, stats & crafting info available at our The Baron's Bloodbag database page.
As far as Bloodbags go, the Baron's Bloodbag is great. The question is - why would you want one? If you've already reached the endgame (which you will need to do in order to obtain this schematic), then you no longer have any need for Bloodbags.
To carry this Bloodbag and an Extractor you are going to be carrying almost 20v! That's crazy. You might say ok well what about if I pair it with Feyd's Drinker, and you could... but it's just such an inefficient form of water management that I wouldn't recommend it.
The Emperor's Wings Mk6
Source, stats & crafting info available at our The Emperor's Wings Mk6 database page.
As far as Suspensor Belts go, The Emperor's Wings have to be up there with the very worst. Not only is it awful at preventing fall damage, but it also lacks the exceptional mobility provided by the Full Suspensor belt or the combat utility provided by the Responsive/Sentinel belts.
Hard to really imagine this being useful in any scenario.
