Fight Style: Multi-Target Cleave encounter
Recommended Composition: 2 Tanks / 4 Healers / 14+ DPS
Enrage Mechanic: Hard Enrage if a bomb goes off, Hard Enrage at 6:25
Heroism / Bloodlust: Use on Pull
Easy Mode
- Pick up Hyena with balls if they spawn close to you
- Pick up Scrapmaster with a medium ball to interrupt The Recycler cast
- Destroy the Bomb with big ball or crash into the boss for 2% damage
- Get Bombshells to 85% to make them move/grippable
- Use defensives when targeted by Prototype Powercoil
- Kick Scrapmasters Scrap Rockets cast
- Spread out with Incinerator circles and do not burn extra trash piles
Mechanics
Prototype Powercoil
Several powercoils spawn around the area, each targeting a random player for the entire duration. The player takes damage that is increased for each stack of Hypercharged. Strong defensives are advised when the stacks get too high.
Powercoils also knock the balls away if hit.
Scrapmaster
Additionally to dealing much higher damage with Scrap Rockets cast, Scrapmasters will now cast The Recycler on a random player when they initially spawn. This is a 14 seconds cast that will kill the player if not interrupted. You can only interrupt this by picking up the Scrapmaster with a Medium sized ball.
Maximum Output
Additionally to extra Bombs and Bombshells, you now also gain an additional scrapmaster spawn.
Strategy
This fight is a pure mechanics check and everyone understanding the assignments here will be the most important factor in defeating this boss smoothly.
The main thing that everyone needs to understand is that a large portion of damage done to the boss comes from the balls. Each ball at maximum size is 2% damage which means 30% of boss HP can be removed by doing all the balls correct.
Make sure to set up a kick rotation on the Scrapmasters once they start casting Scrap Rockets.
Markers
Sorting (balls)
This ability has additional layers of difficulty compared to heroic. While on heroic, it was enough to get big, destroy the Big Bomb or Crash into the boss, on mythic, you will have several additional tasks that will make a big difference if done correctly:
- Scrapmaster needs to be picked up before The Recycler cast finishes
- Hyenas will kill random players if ignored by ball players
- Failing to hit the Boss with leftover balls results in +2% boss HP
- Hitting a bombshell will very likely wipe the raid
To handle the ball mechanic as clean as possible the following strategy is advised.
Each player will get assigned a marker, with tanks always having the same one.
The player then should start moving towards the assigned marker and start clearing up the area in sort of a triangle formation.
As you are getting the ball, look around for Hyenas spawning, they spawn just as you get the ball and picking up a pack of hyenas will make you medium sized instantly. This is very valuable because usually, each marker will have one Scrapmaster that needs to be picked up. So as you are entering your section, if there is a Scrapmaster present there, Hyenas is your objective number 1 to get medium sized and pick up the Scrapmaster before the recycle cast finishes.
Once done with the scrapmaster, your next objective is destroying the big bomb. For this we use a simple rule:
You will have a maximum of 2 big bombs up at the same time, but this picture should show you how you want to handle the selection.
Generally speaking, if you are clearing Moon, you should never have to go all the way across the map to Yellow, to destroy the bomb, this should be Yellow/Green/Blue players objective depending on where exactly it spawned. The main thing is that players understand that if the bomb is in their area, it's their task to destroy it. In scenarios where you have 2 bombs spawn close to each other in one area, the players close by should identify this and help out.
A good habit here is to have 2 players always go for the same bomb, as a fail safe, if one of them takes it, the other can crash into the boss instead.
Note: Crashing into the bomb will also release all the Scrapmasters/Hyenas that the player picked up. Make sure to kick Scrapmaster instantly to get him moving, otherwise he will just chill in the back and cast Scrap Rockets.
In order to provide safe space for ball players to crash into the boss, players need to get Bombshells below 85% as soon as possible to allow tanks to group them up. The rule here is that tanks should always place bombshells in front of the boss as stacked up as possible and everyone else should ALWAYS! Crash from behind.
Crashing from the very back, should never accidentally pop a bombshell, unless the player goes way too fast to the boss, or bombshells were done too slow.
NEVER try to hit the boss on the sides, this is the spot which wipes the raid the most, trust me!
Also, do not forget that just like on heroic, bombshells will expire and explode if not killed.
Pro Tip: If you are done with your ball assignments, but the area is still very tight due to bombshells just do this:
Rinse and repeat this, but make sure to emphasise Bombshell HP, because later in the fight, you should even have melee players running out to bombshells just to kill them fast.
Fight ending tip: If you are getting balls at around 10% of boss hp or less, it is safer to just have the players get big and crash into the boss. 4 balls will do 8% and the rest of the raid will easily do 2%+ damage to the boss. Make sure to ignore all the Bombshells here because you do not want them to move around and potentially hit a ball.
