Introduction
Hey everyone, and welcome to the Sailor’s Abyss guide for Fellowship’s Early Access release! In this guide I’ll be going over the abilities used by the trash mobs found inside, strategy tips and tricks for the boss encounter, as well as a recommended route that is both simple to execute and PUG friendly.
Some background on myself, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player in WoW, where I’ve achieved the 0.1% M+ title in every season it has existed. I also create Dungeon, Raid, and Tank guide content over on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so if that’s something you’re interested in make sure to stop by and say hi!

Dungeon Trash

Witchreef Lasher
- VAYR’S LEGACY: These mobs randomly apply the Witchreef Toxin DoT to players, individually these stacks don’t hurt much but they can get out of hand quickly, so be ready with dispels and personals as needed.

Water Elemental
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Healing Waters restores mob health, be ready to interrupt it.
- Hydrobolt targets a random ranged player and cleaves anyone nearby, stack in melee to prevent it from casting or use spare interrupts on it

Vengeful Shade
- Curse Of Drowning applies a magic DoT and 30% slow to a random player, be ready to dispel it or use a CC to stop the cast.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Beware of extra tank damage and reduced cast time when these mobs gain the Bitter Frenzy haste buff.

Tormented Spectre
- Make sure to interrupt or use a CC on every cast of Anguish Unleashed to prevent its AoE damage.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Beware of extra tank damage and reduced cast time when these mobs gain the Bitter Frenzy haste buff.

Hollowed Corsair
- This mob is immune to CC.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Tanks make sure to face these mobs away from your group as their melee swings cleave with Wailing Strike, applying a stacking bleed for 6s. If needed you can kite these slow mobs to drop stacks.

Fading Raider
- These mobs gain stacks of Fervor on melee hits, increasing haste by 2% up to 20 times, so tanks be careful near the end of pulls when these stacks are high.

Deepbound Magi
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Prioritize interrupting Shadow Eruption to prevent its AoE damage and Magic damage taken increase.
- Necrotic Bolt targets a random player, keep spare interrupts on this.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Make sure the whole group is ready to get in the random target Harrowing Solitude soak to split the damage.

Sinthara Boss Fight
Sinthara Abilities

Deals Soul Magic damage over time to two random non-Tank players. When this effect ends, a Watery Grave is placed on the players.

Deals large group-wide damage after a short cast. Players casting when hit will become silenced for a short duration.

Charms any players not attached to a mast, forcing them to run off the platform to their death.

Targets a random player and shoots a massive wave at them, applying a knockback and dealing damage to anyone caught in its path.

Tethers the Tank to a random player. The further away you are from your linked partner, the more damage you take.
Boss Strategy
After circling through the dungeon you’ll make your way towards a damaged ship where Sinthara is waiting. To start off, casters will want to be weary of the Deafening Screech cast, which not only deals a hefty amount of damage to the entire group, but will also interrupt you if you’re casting when it goes off, so make sure you aren’t in the middle of a spellcast to avoid being silenced.
To make it more difficult to keep players topped for this large hit, there are a couple forms of random target damage. The first is Binding Strike, which causes the tank to be tethered to a random other party member for 12s, and deals ticking damage to both players for the duration based on how far apart they are, with being closer together resulting in less damage taken. To handle this I recommend grouping up before the cast goes out, meaning regardless of who gets targeted they will start very close to the tank and immediately take reduced hits, as opposed to starting across the platform where the initial ticks would be quite dangerous.
The other form of random target damage comes from Undertow, which is a DoT the boss applies to 2 random non-tank players. When this DoT is dispelled or expires it also leaves behind a puddle on the ground, so while you want to dispel it quickly you also want to make sure players move towards the edges of the platform to avoid badly placed puddles. It is especially important to avoid dropping puddles near the mast in the centre of the arena, as you’ll need that area clear to handle a couple of the other mechanics.
One of those mechanics is the ability added by the Vayr’s Legacy affix, Necrotic Wave, which targets a random player and shoots a massive wave at them after a short delay that does a large knockback and damage hit to anyone in the path. If you’re able to survive the initial hit you can use teleports or charges to cancel the knockback effect, but generally I recommend hiding behind the mast, as moving out of line of sight not only prevents the knockback, it also causes you to take zero damage. To make this easier to do, I recommend tanking the boss right next to the mast, and again when you’re not running out to drop puddles you should be in melee range so you can easily step behind the mast if targeted.
The final important ability is Siren's Song, which occurs shortly after pushing the boss to 50% health. When this happens she’ll jump to one side of the platform and charm players for several seconds, forcing them to run off to their death. In order to prevent this from happening, players will need to quickly interact with the mast to bind themselves to it, which keeps them safely on the ship while charmed. Once this cast ends the boss will jump back to the platform where the previous phase just repeats, the only difference is your group will now be taking pulsing damage every 3s, so the overlaps with Sinthara’s other abilities become a bit more dangerous.
