Introduction
Hey everyone, and welcome to the Stormwatch guide for Fellowship’s Early Access release! In this guide I’ll be going over the abilities used by the trash mobs found inside, strategy tips and tricks for the boss encounter, as well as a recommended route that is both simple to execute and PUG friendly.
Some background on myself, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player in WoW, where I’ve achieved the 0.1% M+ title in every season it has existed. I also create Dungeon, Raid, and Tank guide content over on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so if that’s something you’re interested in make sure to stop by and say hi!
Dungeon Trash
Mancatcher
- Stay close to these mobs as they will attempt to Grip anyone further than 15yds away, dealing damage and slowing the target.
Pillager
- Try to cleave these mobs down evenly to reduce the value of the Blood Frenzy haste, damage, and health buff they gain when another nearby enemy dies.
Nightmist Cutthroat
- Occasionally these mobs will teleport behind the tank to Backstab them, so be ready to reposition when this happens.
Executioner
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Tanks beware that these mobs deal increased damage based on your missing health.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Tanks make sure to face these mobs away from your group as their melee swings cleave with Executioner's Cleave, applying a stacking 5% damage taken increase for 6s. If needed you can kite these slow mobs to drop stacks.
Profane Invoker
- Shadow Bolt targets the tank, use any spare interrupts on this cast.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Wither puts a DoT on a random player, use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast or dispel the target.
Dire Rat
- At 50% health these mobs will fixate a random player and gain the Death Throes buff, so be ready to kite them or use CCs to lock them down.
Ashen Arsonist
- Flame Blast aims a frontal cone at the tank, point this away from your group and either step out of the effect or use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Big Oogha Flame puts a DoT on a random player, use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast or dispel the target.
After a short encounter with Warlord Brogg, he’ll retreat further into the fortress and you’ll be able to cross a bridge where you’ll find a mix of previously mentioned mobs as well as some entirely new ones.
Bully Basher
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Bully BashBash targets the tank, use a defensive if needed.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Make sure to interrupt the Together Stronk! cast to prevent the 20% DR it applies to all nearby mobs.
Facestabber
- Occasionally these mobs will teleport to a random player and channel Stab Yer Face! into them, make sure they get some extra healing and if possible use a CC to stop the channel.
- Throw Knife targets the tank, beware of the additional damage intake.
Stormscreamer
- Ball Lightning shoots an orb in a line towards random player, use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast or avoid the projectile if it fires.
- Crackling Bolt targets the tank, use any spare interrupts on this.
Warlord Brogg Boss Fight
Warlord Brogg Abilities
Warlord Bragg targets a random player with a Charged Bolt, dealing moderate damage on impact.
Warlord Brogg conjures a large storm around him, dealing huge damage to any players caught in its radius when it finishes casting.
Warlord Brogg zaps the entire party for moderate damage.
Warlord Brogg targets a random player with repeated lightning bolts that deals huge damage in an area over 12 seconds. Damage is spread amongst all players within the radius.
Warlord Brogg summons two Mancatchers to his side to aid him in battle.
Warlord Brogg stuns the target.
Warlord Brogg channels heavy damage in a frontal cone, targeting the Tank throughout.
Warlord Brogg's lightning periodically jolts nearby heroes for Magic Damage.
Boss Strategy
You’ll initially encounter Warlord Brogg on the bridge halfway through the dungeon, where you’ll have to bring him down to 80% health in order to cross. During this part of the encounter, he only has access to 3 of his abilities.
First up is his duo of interrupts, where you’ll want to make sure every cast of Dread Arc is interrupted to prevent the group damage it does. From there you can use all your spare interrupts on the random target Charged Bolt casts.
Outside of that, the only other ability you’ll deal with initially is the Forked Lightning frontal, which follows the tank and channels unavoidable damage into them, so make sure this is pointed away from your group and you have a defensive running to help mitigate the heavy damage.
Once you make your way to the end of the dungeon you’ll once again take on the Warlord, however this time he’s gained a few new abilities. First up is the Storm's Conduit passive, which deals unavoidable damage to a random player each second, which makes getting the previously mentioned interrupts even more important!
On top of that, he’ll no longer be alone, occasionally calling 2 Mancatchers to his aid, which are just the same as the previously mentioned trash mobs with their Grip ability, so stay close. You’ll want to cleave these mobs down relatively quickly, as it can be quite dangerous if they’re alive during the Perfect Storm cast, as this creates a 12yd AoE around the boss that explodes after 3s, and it can be very bad if you get gripped back into this circle.
When the Vayr’s Legacy affix is active the boss also gains the Lightning Rod ability, both when you fight him on the bridge as well as at the end of the dungeon. When this happens a random player will get a circle around them that deals heavy damage every 0.5s for 12s split between all nearby players, so you’ll want to quickly group up in the circle and be ready with healing CDs or group defensives to survive the high amount of damage. While this is active it’s very important you continue to get interrupts on the boss, as one going out at the same time as this heavy party damage can often lead to players dying.
