Introduction
Hey everyone, and welcome to The Wyrmheart Dungeon Guide for Fellowship’s Early Access release! In this guide I’ll be going over the abilities used by the trash mobs found inside, strategy tips and tricks for the boss encounter, as well as a recommended route that is both simple to execute and PUG friendly.
Some background on myself, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player in WoW, where I’ve achieved the 0.1% M+ title in every season it has existed. I also create Dungeon, Raid, and Tank guide content over on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so if that’s something you’re interested in make sure to stop by and say hi!

Dungeon Trash
Shortly after entering the dungeon, you’ll have the choice to go left towards humanoid mobs, or right towards elemental. Based on current tuning I recommend taking the left path, which contains the following trash:
Tundra Stalker
- Rapid Fire is a frontal channel towards the tank, point this away from your group and step out of the effect or use a CC to stop the channel.
Deceitful Scholar
- Rune Of Detonation channels for AoE damage, use an interrupt or CC to stop it.
- Arcane Strike targets the tank, use spare interrupts on this.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Volatile Orb spawns near the furthest player, slowly chasing them until the Scholar is defeated. Make sure you kite it away from your group as it deals pulsing damage to nearby players plus a massive hit of group damage if it reaches its target.
Blade of Cithrel
- Slicing Blades channels in a 3yd radius and follows the tank for the duration, avoid the effect or use a CC to stop the channel.
- Tanks beware this mob uses Enrage at 30% health, gaining 30% haste until defeated.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Ice Breaker causes the mob to leap at a random player, move away from your allies if targeted and note that you can use a well timed dash or teleport ability to avoid the hit when the charge is in motion.
Coldheart Assassin
- Occasionally jump to a random player, stunning them and dealing damage with the Wicked Strikes channel, use an interrupt or CC to stop this attack.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Healers be ready to dispel the random target Coldheart Poison debuff which reduces healing by 30% on top of dealing DoT damage.
If you instead opted to go right, these are the elemental trash mobs you’ll face:
Ice Shardling
- On death triggers a Shardling Explosion, applying a stacking 10% slow and DoT for 5s.
Glacial Sprite
- Avoid the random target Freezing Pool puddles these mobs create.
Spellbound Golem
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Avoid the Ice Spike circles spawned under all players.
- On death the golem shatters, spawning 3 Ice Shardlings.
Greater Ice Elemental
- This mob is immune to CC.
- Beware of the group damage from Frozen Stomp, and have casters stand at max range to avoid it if possible.
- Burrowed Strike targets a random player, stack on them to split the damage of the hit.
- Avalanche shoots out a frontal at a random target, make sure you avoid it.
Regardless of which initial path you chose, eventually both paths converge and both humanoid and elemental mobs can be found in the remainder of the dungeon. On top of that, there is one additional new mob in this area as well:
Eldrin Chronomancer
- Decripify channels damage into the tank, use an interrupt or CC to stop it.
- Erosion Of Time debuffs 2 players, healers can use their dispel to remove one of them and focus healing into the other.
- VAYR’S LEGACY: Temporal Manipulation increases the haste of all nearby allies by 20% while it channels, be ready to use an interrupt or CC to stop it.
Apostate Veras Boss Fight
Apostate Veras Abilities
Apostate Veras slams the Tank for a large amount of damage.
Apostate Veras targets the tank with a wide frontal ability which deals major damage to any players caught in its area.
Apostate Veras spawns frozen pools under each player every 0.5 seconds for 3 seconds, each exploding for damage as they erupt.
Apostate Veras afflicts a random player with a Magic debuff that fires out a barrage of icicles in all directions when dispelled. Deals huge damage to the affected player if allowed to expire.
Apostate Veras spawns frozen puddles around the room while Frigid Mist is channelling.
Boss Strategy
Eventually you’ll reach the arena of Apostate Veras, who is a caster that specializes in ice magic. To start, you’ll want to make sure someone interrupts every cast of Frigid Mists quickly, as the longer this channel continues the more puddles are spawned around the room as area denial. This cast only happens roughly every 30s, so outside of that you’ll just want to keep as many interrupts as possible on the Icy Death tank hit.
Outside of this, tanks will also want to watch out for the Howling Blast frontal ability, which shoots towards them after a short delay. This also takes up a very large portion of the room, so do your best to point this into a wall or corner away from your group, then step out of the effect yourself.
The other main ability is Glacial Spikes, which spawns a circle underneath all players every 0.5s for 3s that detonate after a 1s delay. This means you’ll need to stutter step as these circles spawn to avoid getting hit, while also making sure you watch out for any of the Frigid Mists puddles around the room. If you have multiple melee players it can be useful to stack up and rotate around the boss together when this happens, as that allows you to safely avoid the impacts while maintaining uptime.
When Vayr’s Legacy is active the boss also gains the Splintering Ice ability, which debuffs a random player with a DoT that shoots out icicles upon removal. This DoT ticks fairly hard so you will want your healer to dispel it relatively quickly, but you also don’t want the icicles to cleave other players. I recommend having the target stand still, allowing the rest of the group to position around the points that appear underneath them.
